Ruth is a wonderful girl! She is my daughter's Youth Leader at church and such a role model for the younger girls! Ruth is envolved in more charity projects than I can recall, seven I think? Well Ruth is forever busy with fundraisers so I offered to make her a quilt for a project for orphan kids overseas. It is finished at last, hope you like it Ruth and that you will raise a few dollars with it.
The pattern is from the Jelly Roll Quilts book by Pam and Nicky Lintott, called Sparkling Gemstones. I just used fat quarters and cut my own jelly roll strips. Quilted by myself on the long arm quilting machine.
WOW! this a lovely quilt... and for such a worthy cause! You have done a superb job! Did you make this up yourself or is it a commercial pattern? I love the way it "jumps"!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sewing!
Hi Helen, My one and only loyal follower! haha. Hope you are very well. Thanks for the nice comments. It is a commercial pattern, it's from the book Jelly Roll Quilts, by Pam and Nicky Lintott, and it's called Sparkling Gemstones. Maybe I should add that to the post, thanks for reminding me!
ReplyDeleteHello again! thanks for that! I now own two jelly rolls, and still don't know what I'm making with them.... this just might be the pattern! and of course, a girl has to have a new book!!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm working on a new bag and still trying to quilt my D9P but at this very moment I'm watching tele and drinking a glass of red!! So, it's all good where I am!!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend!
It's ages since I went round the HeartStrings blogring and I'm finally catching up!
ReplyDeleteYou've made some great quilts recently - particularly like this one, the fresh colours and white really set it off. Also love how you presented it tied up with the ribbon :)
I love your Sparkling Gemsotnes quilt, very nice indeed. I have made it using a very bright JR and black sashing (piccies are on my blog).
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. Hope you find the right stove for your kitchen.
Blessings
Gail
