Out of the Closet

This was only my second sampler quilt which I pieced 12 years ago in New Zealand when I started quilting! It was a beginners class in Palmerston North . All these years it was just sleeping on a shelf. I started quilting again last year and wanted to learn to use a longarm quilting machine this year and needed a small project to 'practice' on, so guess who came out of the closet last week?  The quilting was done using just a simple pattern to get te feel of the machine. It was good fun, and I am going back for more!

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog! So you can use the shops long arm? That's great! I quilt on my semi-industrial Brother machine, but so far only crazy meandering (or scribbling in my case:-) and the usual in the ditch and channel quilting.

    Have a happy day!

  2. Thanks for stopping by and a warm welcome to blogging!

What a great opportunity to have a lesson on a long arm machine. Your scallop pattern worked out really well. I use a Pfaff and usually prefer straight line quilting. I would love to have a go on a long arm one day!

  4. Congrats on your longarm practice piece. I guess that, as with all new skills, practice is the key - great start :)
